FAQs
The following are frequently asked questions about your appointment and reflexology in general. If you have any questions that are not answered below, please don't hesitate to drop me an email here.
Your Appointment
What do I need to wear to my reflexology appointment?
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing, with trousers that can be easily pulled up to the knee. You only have to remove your shoes and socks for reflexology.

Do I need to fill out any forms?
I email all of my clients an online form to fill out before their appointment date. If you are unable to fill out this online form, I will give you a hard copy to fill out when you arrive for your appointment. I ask any clients who are taking medications or are under the care of a doctor to read and sign a medical consent form.

Do I need to prepare for my reflexology treatment?
You do not need to prepare your feet for your reflexology treatment. It's best not to eat a heavy meal in the hour or two before your treatment but if you have, please let me know and I will be gentle when treating your digestive reflexes. Please do not consume any alcohol before your appointment.

I am unable to attend my reflexology appointment. What can I do?
All appointments booked online are secured with a €20 deposit. This deposit is fully refundable if you cancel with more than 24 hours notice. Unfortunately, your deposit is not refundable if you cancel less than 24 hours before your appointment time.

Common Reflexology Questions

Does Reflexology hurt?
Reflexology is typically a gentle, relaxing treatment and does not hurt. When we start the treatment, we will find the pressure that is right for you. At times, there can be a little tenderness or discomfort in the foot, if I am touching a reflex that is out of balance. This is a good thing, as it tells us something about your body. We will discuss this reflex and the part of the body that it corresponds with, after your treatment.

Is Reflexology suitable for everyone?
People of all ages can benefit from reflexology. However, there are certain times when it is not suitable for me to treat you.
- If you are in your first trimester of pregnancy
- If you have a history of thrombosis or blood clots or are on blood thinning medication
- If you have an unstable heart condition
- If you have gout
- If you have any severe undiagnosed pain
- If you have consumed alcohol on the day of your appointment

How will I feel after my treatment?
The response to reflexology varies greatly from person to person.
Many people are extremely relaxed after their reflexology treatment. It is common to sleep very well that night, although some say they have a particularly good sleep the following night. Some people report having a lot of energy, while others feel tired.

You may feel more emotional than usual. It is also very common to go to the toilet more often. This is the body cleansing itself - and is temporary!

Sometimes, symptoms of an ailment can get worse before they get better. For example, if you come because you have hay fever, you may notice a runny nose or sore eyes the day after your treatment. This is usually part of the process of healing. However, it is important not to discount symptoms of an ailment and seek medical advice if the symptoms persist, in case they are unrelated to your reflexology treatment.
There are many ways of prolonging the positive effects of your reflexology treatment and all of these will be detailed in the after-care advice sheet that I will give you at the end of your session.
